We wanted to check in with you all and break our silence thus far concerning the situation with COVID-19. First of all, we want to express our heartfelt prayers for our Community, our Nation, this World. This is a difficult time that can often lead to fear and anxiety.
We wanted to share Psalm 61:1-4, it’s been a cornerstone set of verses for life in general but seems even more appropriate for the circumstances.
“Hear my cry, O God; Attend to my prayer. From the end of the earth I will cry to You, When my heart is overwhelmed; Lead me to the rock that is higher than I. For You have been a shelter for me, A strong tower from the enemy. I will abide in Your tabernacle forever; I will trust in the shelter of Your wings.”
We choose to live our lives not in fear, for we know who holds tomorrow, we are however cautious. As a family run business, with two of us over 70, and one of us immunocompromised, we will not be taking risks with not only our family health but with others’ health as well.
It is with a heavy heart to announce that until further notice we are open, our doors, however are not.
What does this mean?
This means, that for the time being we will be available over the phone, you are more than welcome to participate in curb side pickup. We will not be open to floor traffic in the shop.If you need to purchase anything, please call us at 907-376-8198, we are more than happy to text/email you pictures of what you are looking for, answer any questions you might have or help you shop over the phone, you can pay over the phone, and make an appointment to pick up your items.
Over the next couple of weeks, we will be working diligently to have a contingency plan in place should the situation worsen or prolong. For now, we are shutting our doors, however we will do our best to be available to you through other means, such as over the phone.
We don’t know what is going to happen next. We don’t know if COVID-19 is going to spread throughout Alaska, there are too many unknowns to speculate.
What we do know is that we will be doing our part to be as safe as possible for everyone. We will be participating in Social Distancing for those, like us, with elderly or immunocompromised, or those with children to be as safe as possible.
Together we can and will survive and thrive past this season, we do it by limiting our exposure to others. We do it for those who need us to do this.
From all of us at A Black Sheep Shop,
May God bless you and yours. Be safe.
“The Lord bless you and keep you;
The Lord make His face shine upon you,
and be gracious to you;
The Lord lift up His countenance upon you,
and give you peace.” Numbers 6:24-26
